Molteni&C. Kitchens - Dada
Vitra
Filtered light, clean lines, and materials in warm tones define an apartment where Italian design interacts with Hong Kong’s urban landscape. The Molteni&C wardrobes, the Molteni&C Dada Kitchens kitchen, and the Boffi Bagno bathrooms all contribute to a cohesive narrative that emphasizes the proportions and quality of everyday spaces.
The city is glimpsed through the windows, while inside, light filters through sheer curtains, meets matte surfaces, and flows across the wooden floor. The Blue Pool Apartment builds its identity on this balance: architecture with a bold design, made welcoming by the materials and a palette of whites, warm grays, and brown tones.
The journey begins at a dark threshold, punctuated by vertical elements that lend depth to the entryway. Inside, the wood of the door and floor complements a minimalist composition, enlivened by a console table, small objects, and plants. The glass partitions with black profiles extend the views toward the living area: they delineate the spaces while allowing light to pass through and transform the entryway into a space that connects the different parts of the home.
In the living area, beams and pillars form a white grid that adds rhythm to the ceiling and defines the perspectives. The Molteni&C Dada Kitchens kitchen fits into this geometry with its uniform cabinet fronts, compact volumes, and dark countertops. The full-height cabinets and the metallic surfaces of the appliances create a wall with a technical feel, while the work areas are arranged around the central pillar, maintaining a direct connection with the dining area.
The Essence of Living

1/1

The large, dark table creates a distinct horizontal presence. The grain of the tabletop, the cognac-colored chairs, and the copper-toned pendant light add warmth and texture to the composition. During the day, the curtains soften the light streaming in through the large windows; in the evening, the intimate lighting focused on the table emphasizes its role as a gathering place. The kitchen and dining area thus share a common aesthetic, where functionality and the pleasure of living flow seamlessly together.
The same precision is evident in the wardrobe area. The Molteni&C wardrobes, with full-height doors and matte finishes, take on an architectural presence: they define walls, line the passageways, and incorporate storage functions within orderly surfaces. The herringbone parquet adds movement, while a small vanity area, featuring a circular mirror and metallic details, offers a more intimate touch.
A meeting place

In the bathrooms, Boffi Bagno’s furnishings and faucets continue the dialogue between the precision of forms and the richness of surfaces. Wall tiles with pronounced veining extend across countertops, cabinet fronts, and walls, paired with white sinks and minimalist metal elements. Mirrors and indirect lighting lighten the composition, highlighting thicknesses, edges, and transitions.
Each space interprets this design language with a distinct touch. In the bathroom with a built-in tub, the continuity of the wall cladding and the softness of the curtain create an intimate atmosphere. In the shower room, the vertical lines of the light-colored walls interact with the herringbone pattern of the floor and the darker, wall-mounted vanity. Attention to detail lends character even to spaces dedicated to the simplest daily routines.
Within the Arredamenti Bertola portfolio, Blue Pool Apartment embodies a philosophy of viewing interior design as an integral part of architecture. The value of the whole emerges from the relationship between individual elements: a recurring finish, an alignment that organizes the space, and a transparency that allows the eye to wander. An Italian sensibility that finds a domestic, concrete, and personal expression in Hong Kong.
Clean lines and textured surfaces

1/1

A consistent color scheme guides the transition between rooms. The warm tones of the wood are echoed in the dining area’s seating and the coppery hues of the pendant light; the grays of the cabinets and kitchen reappear, with varying depths, in the veined surfaces of the bathrooms. This continuity allows for variations in texture and luminosity, giving each room a distinct character within a harmonious whole.
The project embodies a sensibility closely aligned with Arredamenti Bertola’s vision: selecting furnishings by considering their relationship to the space and to the lives of those who inhabit it. The presence of Italian design in an international context gains meaning through these connections—from the storage capacity of the cabinets to the layout of the kitchen, right down to the attention to detail in the most private spaces. Quality thus becomes a daily experience, characterized by balanced proportions, pleasant materials, and details designed to accompany the home over time.
